Women and biking

Women and biking

Postby alansh on Tue May 06, 2008 10:47 pm

There was a report on one of the free dailys (Metro?) that more women are now taking and passing their bike tests than car tests. Apparently something to do with the cost of motoring.

That's great - I have only one question.....

Where will they put all the shopping?

well i get my shopping back in a variety of ways
1 i tell the kids to do it
2 i get my hubby to come with his big bike and stuff his top box
3 i say "if you want food you know where the shops are - i'm going out on my bike - you can either chase me or do the shopping"
4 i only buy what i need for that day (which has the advantage of not wasting food (i wouldn't like to upset the PM) and having the excuse of needing to ride my bike every day)
5 if i have ever had any whinges from him indoors the following usually works - "well just tell me darling what sort of wife you'd rather have - one who loves all things bike or one that doesn't cos i can always swap my addiction for visiting bike shops and reading bike mags for visiting clothes, shoes and handbag shops and reading gossip mags. now just tell me which you'd rather accompany me to and talk about! - its never failed. (which is just as well cos i'd just die if i had to traipse around clothes shops pretending i was enjoying myself!)
