Hi
Thinking about getting a bike agian. Do i have to re-sit my bike test.???? .
I would be crazy to go and buy a bike with out some form of refresher course to get my confidence back in riding and owning a new bike. The power differance that bikes have now as agianst 30yrs ago is scary.
I am looking at getting a Transalp (dreaming). never to old, i keep telling myself.

cheers

Welcome to the site and forums!

Nope, you don't need to take your test again.

I would suggest that you take a 'Rusty Riders' training course with a local instructor - I hear they are worth every penny!

Never too old is right!

Hi craggrat and welcome to the forum from me.

As Shellshine rightly said you do not have to take your test again as long as you have the entitlement on your license. There was a bit of a fiasco at the DVLA a few of years back when people were changing their licenses to the new photo type and they were coming back without the Bike entitlement.

Good luck with the hunt for a bike.

Hello craggrat,
Welcome to the forum, when I got back into bikes a few years ago I did a course with the Norfolk Constabulary, it's some of the best money I've ever spent. It would be worthwhile checking if your local force does anything similar, as so many do nowadays.

First, welcome, if you still have the correct class (now class A) on your licence, then NO. However you do need to check as some people have 'lost' classes off their licences by DVLA errors.
