Who in there right mind discided it would be a great place for a circuit on the top of a Scottish hill
The circuit is a great place to watch racing though with some spectacular views and some great up, down and twisty bits on the circuit. I suppose it's a bit like Laguna Seca, you don't realise how hilly it is untill you go and watch racing there in person
If you get the chance to go, do it as you will not experience another circuit like it in the UK
As for the racing itself, well it was action packed as usual, but I guess you already know that if you watched it on the box in the dry and wind free environment of your homes
We stayed in a fantastic B&B in Hawick, yes that's right, close to where Hizzy lived and of course we went to the Hizzy room in the local museum, where they have his Yamaha that he raced before his fatal helicopter crash, also his 2 earlier bikes he rode in the early 80's in the TT, plus loads of other memorabilia and all his trophies too
There is also a statue of him in the local gardens looking at another famous Hawick TT rider's statue, Jimmy Gutthery.
I fully recommend a visit if you are ever up that way
I think that Bob will pen something for the Autumn edition of the GW along with some photos
