Bristol Branch had a successful rideout to the Elan Valley and Aberystwyth on September 30th.
After meeting up,the three usual bods (come on Bristol, where were you?)headed to Abergavenny bus station for the obligatory tea and bacon sarnie stop, with a look at the bikes there and a good chat. Then on to the Elan valley. Sadly a coach had arrived just after we got to the visitor centre and they all piled into the cafe!
Lunch stop abandoned,we then did a tour of all the dams and reservoirs, with photo stops, and the took the mountain road to Aberystwyth for a late lunch at the seafront cafe, and bikers meeting point. Jason even had a video camera on the front of his CBR,but as we were riding sensibly,I don't think that it will appear on youtube! I'm not sure if Ian enjoyed the twisties on his new Pan European, but he did OK.
We returned via the A44 and a slight deviation from route to save time.
The weather was fresh to start with, warming up later with glorious sunshine at Aberystwyth. So Bristol, you missed a good day out.
Let's hope next year we get better weather and a better turnout for rideouts.
Pete.
