Three Shires Summer Rally 2009

Three Shires Summer Rally 2009

Postby Jordan on Tue Mar 24, 2009 8:02 pm

This year, as a club we have decided to have our summer rally at a new venue - to cater for all needs, the rally is based at a bunk barn in the heart of Derbyshire so if you do not want to camp, you don't have to (limited spaces) and there are camping facilities too. Showers, wash basins and toilets are also in the barn.

See the links on the diary page for more info and booking details.

C'mon guys and girls, I can't believe no one outside the Three Shires' members has shown any interest in this rally?

I always thought there was a core of rallyists who would go to other branches' events. There is still some indoor accommodation available for softies (like me  ) as well as camping space.

I’d love to get there myself but it just falls on a working weekend for me. Last year's Summer Rally was such a great success and I enjoyed it so much although I could only make the second day

Still I can’t help but wonder if moving the date from around the time of mid summer’s day where it was held last year, to the last weekend in august, which is only 3-weeks from the start of autumn and also 2-weeks before the National Rally.

 I think I’d be pushing my luck and finances anyway, expecting to go two major rallies so close together. :o)) so it will have to be the National Rally for me I'm afraid

Mick - don't assume it's a lack of interest my friend - sometimes situations arise that are beyond our control which mean we have no choice.

Having been to 2 rallies organised by Three Shires, and been on the trip last year to Normandy with them... I know the summer rally will be absolutely brilliant and would definitely recommend others to go along - you'll be made very welcome and will have a weekend filled with fun, laughter, food and beer! (and hopefully some sunshine!).

I would have loved to have come to the the summer rally; I had a great time at the 's no rally earlier in the year. Unfortunately my circumstances have changed and I won't be doing any more rallies for the foreseeable future.

Mine and Sanwitch's circumstances are uncertain at present so we couldn't book even if we would be able to attend

Guess that means I won't be seeing you at the National Rally then? Another old friend I won't be seeing then.

Try keeping me (us, my wife's coming this year) away from this one JB :o))

Fortunately this was booked up earlier in the year.

Look forward to seeing you again.

My tickets have been paid for and arrived, so it would take wild dogs to keep me away.

All things are in place, including the food and booze. Still limited places available - give me a call if you would like to join us - see the Three Shires website for contact details.

Weather forecast looks reasonable - so everything is looking good.

Looking forward to seeing all of you that are coming.

How long to get there Erica? :?:
 I used to have a bike like that then I sold it and got a VFR750 :o))
Seriously though I'd love to be there but it's not to be for Wendy and I this year, but we're very looking forward to the National 2-weeks on because it's the start of our holiday to France. ENJOY

:o)) We are going via the 'pretty' route .....I don't like motorways on the bike.....too boring and try to avoid dual carriage ways for similar reasons. Then there is the lunch stop and coffee .......aaaaaah this is the life! 8)

See you at the National! ;o) (must find out where you are going in France - we had a week in the Loire in July....wonderful!)
