Oxford Branch 2008 Rally

Postby EricaVFR on Wed Feb 27, 2008 4:28 pm

 Sorry for the confusionl. Yes, the Birmingham camping weekend has been confirmed to me now as the 16th/17th/18th as Central says.
Oxford are currenlty discussing their Rally, which was/is provisionally booked 8th/9th/10th with venue t.b.c. Hope this begins to sort out the dates!

Eligible for the Saddlesore?

Postby allicatt on Wed Feb 27, 2008 7:19 pm

So now everything is more or less sorted out  can anyone tell me if the Birmingham camping weekend qualifies for the Saddlesore competition? Or come to that does the Oxford Rally? The list seems somewhat shorter than I expected.

Ride safe

I expect that they will both qualify for Saddle Sore.
Have to check with Steve, but they meet the criteria.

As soon as details have been sent out by Birmingham & Oxford Branches they'll be added. :)

Shame is two events I would normally go to are now both on weekends that I have to work. Birminghams now clashes with the Northampton balloon festival weekend which will be a restdays cancelled event for me. Whats more if there is any rain or wind that weekend we don't even see the balloons go up. I'd rather be camping at the pub.

:D All sorted! Betty has emailed me tonight. The Oxford Rally will be at the same venue as previous (although the pub is under different management) on the 8th/9th/10th of August. Usual fun and games and entertainment - hopefully better weather than last year!! Booking form will be in the next Golden Wing!

Well last year I only did the ride out on the Saturday but WOW!!! What a cracking good time we had at the 'S no Rally this year... Everyone that was there said it was worth it despite camping at minus 5 deg C... Even the whimps.

Well, what a rally the Oxford Rally was!! :o)) :o)) :o))

Absolutely fantastic!!!!

Massive thanks to you all for organising such a superb weekend! Laughed loads, talked loads, sang, drank and danced loads!! (All great ingredients for a successful time!) :o))

Even the rotten weather couldn't dampen spirits! (Particularly those of a certain Captn Morgan!) ;o)

Seriously though, it was one of the best rallie's I've ever been to (and I've been to one or two in me time!)

Met some brilliant people, made some new friends and had a blast!!!

Thanks Betty and Jim, Mark, Erica, Pete, Ted, and everyone else who had a hand in arranging it all and making it such a lot of fun!! Another totally unforgettable weekend with the HOC!! (Well, apart from those bits I can't actually remember!!!)

Oh my goodness!! I can't remember!  I danced so much... were you there with a chap.. are you blonde and had a red buff.. and cropped your t-shirt? Or am I totally on the wrong track....

Were we dancing right at the end (um.. a bit of mickey taking in Dancing Queen and someone commenting on my 'flatness' in Mustang Sally? ) I do remember a smashing couple who said they lived sort of in between several branches... was that you!! I wish I'd known! Soooooo glad you made it! ;)

It was SUCH a great laugh wasn't it!! :D :D :D
