Spot on Dibble - I mean, I'm not averse to dressing up, playing silly games, etc etc... but primarily it is the above for me... plus the opportunity to meet and make new friends too :o)) oh... and go on a bike ride or two as well of course! ;o)

It's the people that make the National such a special event. Always has been. Always will be. :o))

I can and do enjoy such weekends - without my motorcycle.

I do expect something a little different at biker rallies. A little more rock and roll without lots of children running about.

Do we know how many members have booked?

As I said before Barry - why not give Heather a ring and have a chat about it? I'm sure she'll be happy to answer all of your questions and then you can make your decision accordingly. :D

She hasn't got t'internet at the moment so can't read the forums to respond. :)

I presume Heather can answer this Barry.

I wonder how many forum users have booked, would it be worth starting a new thread?

I have and received my confirmation yesterday.

I am booked in but it will not show as HOC booking as I got a better deal on a weeks booking for my relatives who are staying there the whole week. So whatever figures come up it will not be a true reflection.

Barry why are you so worried about that statistics all the time. Is it not rally unless you have so many. I bet even if there were only a few of us you would struggle to meet, speak with and remember all of us. Just relax and enjoy it for all the reasons given previously.

Since you asked, at bike rallies I like the all inclusive crowded atmosphere of the larger events. It seems to overcome the polarisation of people into their various individual groups. A similar situation can be achieved by having a small location. A relatively small number of members distributed among a large number of the general public on a large site does not really do the trick.

I am a little disturbed at the lack of information regarding club members attending. If it is anything like Filey, it becomes very difficult to sort the club members from the general public -except on rides, when socialising is rather difficult. :o(

Barry, honestly, don't worry about the numbers ... at any rally you never know how many there are until the day arrives... it's the same for any event.. you can only ever have a rough idea... but that's about as far as it goes.

Once again, I would strongly recommend that you ring the organisers of the event and ask them for the information which will stop you from being disturbed. (well, we live in hope eh ;o) ) I would guess that they will have a rough idea of figures.

I do understand the comment about Filey - yes, in such environments it can be very difficult to identify club members,,however... this is easily resolved... every one should just buy one of the wonderful T-shirts currently available from the online HOC shop! :o)) :o)) :o)) and, when they get to the rally - purchase a rally one too! :o))

Then it's simply a case of staring at breasts all night  (logo is situated on left breast of t-shirts) and there you go! Easy peasy lemon squeezy! :o)) (Of course - you may end up being thought of as 'very' disturbed from such blatant chest examining and end up modelling a delightful little number with buckles at the back!

I find that on rides there is often very good socialising time during the stops and that's when you get to identify folks you later see in the evenings too (if you can remember their faces...)

So... T-shirts and badges and hats etc... available now! :o)) :o))

I do know what Barry is saying....

..........I thought that Filey was more difficult a venue than previous because we were spread out all over the Caravan park and the bar was full of families in the evening. That said, its all about having a laugh and meeting new people as well as old friends (and to drink beer!!) I must admit that the function room at Tenby was great and the previous year in Lincolnshire, we had a huge turnout and line dancing with a cowboy theme if you remember! I spent the whole weekend with a hangover!

..Anyway, Im looking forward to it!!, Jennie, grateful if you would order me a large T Shirt! Ill give you the cash on arrival if thats OK! 8)

As for a T-shirt... I can bring you a large national club t-shirt - is that what you want? If so, would you like it with or without the 'Living The Dream' on the back? :o)

Jennie

What makes a national t-shirt different to the normal one? Does it have a special logo for the rally?

ok... for clarification... (apologies for any prior confusion) :o)

I only currently supply National generic regalia - not event-specific stuff, that's down to the event organisers. I have nowt to do with the whens, whys & wherefores of their goings on.

A National Club T-shirt is the one currently advertised on the HOC Shop. Black, with HOC logo on left breast, and you can have it either with the 'Living the Dream' slogan on the back, or without it and in either a standard fit or skinni fit. :o))

For any T-shirts for the National Rally at Weymouth (or any other rallies) - nowt to do with me. They're being sorted by the organisers. I'm pretty sure that you cannot pre-order them (I think that's what was said when I had my chat with Heather last week).

And, if my memory serves me correctly... in previous years (and we're talking lots!) when I was involved in rally t-shirts, I think I only ever saw 1 booking form for a rally that included a t-shirt order section. They tend to be 'buy at the event' / after the event and it's normally on a first-come-first-served basis.

I think Dibble sorted out the shirts for last years National Rally but only because there were logistical difficulties for the organisers, however, that isn't the case this year. :o)

Thats great thanks Jennie. You have clarified the situation. I still think it would be better for the National T shirts to be available to order. That way, there will not be wrong size problems etc.....Just an idea! :o)
