New To HOC - membership

Postby Mike1612 on Fri Apr 18, 2008 12:29 am

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just joined 'online' as a joint membership.
I listed both myself and my wife in the one box - was that correct???? ??????
How long does it take to be acknowledged?

By the way my name is Mike - from just outta Oxford.
I have just bought my first pan 1100 ( riding little 500s' til now  ) and for the first time my other half wants to get out on the road with me and we both thought your club sounded a lot of fun.

I hope that we can get involved in some of the local events this year and get to meet some of you great sounding fellow bikers :o)) !

Well take care you all.

Mike,

Welcome to the club.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along in a while - but for now, this is what I understand:

We get the Paypay records and process them "manually". So, the fact that you may not have put the right info in the right boxes will be OK (you may have done it right, I don't know since I pay by direct debit). In a few days you should get two membership cards, a copy of the club "rules" and the current Golden Wing magazine.

What you now need to do is hook up with Erica who is the secretary for the Oxford branch. She can tell you where they meet (and when) and all the other stuff that is going on locally. I'm sure she will be in touch - the local branches get informed of all new members and then we try and contact them to say hello.

Does that help at all?

Thank you all for your responses.

I am hoping my wife will be free for us both to attend the next oxford meeting and hopefully start asap to get involved in some of the 'goings on' lol.

I haven't really managed to have time to thoroughly search this site so the answers are probably staring right at me  .........

Just out of interest how many members are there in Oxford at the moment?
Is there quuite a large turn out at the meetings and the events?

Due to the fact we have a little babe and my wife is a teacher I know we won't be able to attend some of the meetings but we will try for the first one in June.

Right off to look at the Oxford site

Hi again - we have 20-30 members at each meeting and do have some fun. Had a great night last Tuesday with GirlsBike2 coming along to show us their really nice biking gear made and shaped for females. Next meeting is the history of Oxford by one of our long standing members (well we do let him sit down.....honest! :P ) - look forward to seeing you (shame we don't do a creche........that would be right up my street!)

Why do I have to Log in everytime I switch pages on this forum?
Am I doing something wrong here or is this the norm?

It is not the norm. DO you allow cookies on your computer? What browser are you using?

Hi panamaniac,

Welcome to the forum from Norfolk.
I had the same trouble, and can only keep "live" if I use Microsoft Internet Explorer, have you tried that?
My BT Yahoo logs me out at every page, just like you.
