The Honda Owners Club

I wonder, is there any reason that the web address: http://www.hondaownersclub.co.uk/ actually belongs to the S*Z**I Owners Club and not us?
This was brought to my attention the other day by someone who was looking for the HOC on the 'net and came across that other owners club page. Perhaps they beat us to it in getting that web address registered, and would only sell it to the HOC at some outrageous price? Cheeky buggers they are!

I must admit I found this a few years ago and thought it was quite bizzare.

That's exactly what happened.
Every now and then I get an e-mail offering the url at silly money.
If we can jump in and get it when it comes up for renewal we will, but we wont be paying over the odds

What I have discovered about this is that if you Google Honda Owners Club The Suzuk comes up in the results with the honda address but if you google Suzuki Owners Club then the address http://www.suzukiownersclub.co.uk is in the results list but both these web addresses take you to the same site.

Personally I think what they have done is underhand and should be against the law

PS what I do like about their site is they have a chat room which could be usefull here too.

Oh yes, they've got it sorted alright. Two web addresses, (maybe more.....?), one website. Someone was obviously quite astute there!

Well actually they probably are breaking the law as I would imagine the Honda name will be copyrighted. They could well be breaking more than one law....has anyone looked into this?
