I have planned to visit some of the locations where Hammond was. The area where the programme was filmed is not too far away from where we'll be staying, East of Omaha beech towards the western end of Gold beech.

We've now completed the bookings for the people who have paid their deposits so this trip is now closed. However if anyone would like to join us over in Normandy, they are quite welcome to but they will need to make their own ferry and accommodation arrangements.

It's looking like a good trip in the making.

Hi JB

I have just found the site and spotted this thread for Normandy.

I understand that the trip is now closed but could you let me know the details so I could tag along and book the same dates locations etc?

I have been intending to do a trip to Normandy on my own for years but never quite gotten there and to go with a group would be great!

Let me know your thpoughts and I shall sort something out!
Cheers
Phil

0033235197863 or e-mail address lehavretourisme@ldlines.fr thou you will most likely need to Phone to book the ferry tickets

LD ferry for 27/06/2008 leaving at 2300 to Le harve and return 01/07/2008. arriving back in portsmouth around 2100

For the Hotel you would be best speaking with john so drop him an E-mail before booking anything so he can point you in the right places.

Its getting much closer now, so watched 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'Band of Brothers' till my eyes bleed!
Bike been serviced and going very well, now for what else do we HAVE to take with us and what would be useful to take? A list of both would be very useful to all from any frequent european traveller!?

Thanks

Hi All,

We will all start to talk a lot more nearer the time, but I was always told to take the originals of all my documents as opposed to copies? I'm sure someone will have all the answers!

One thing I do need to know, I have just sold my Pan  so will I need to notify John of the new bike details? (when I find one that is!).

Regards, Al

hi al,

no this ferry company doesn't need to know make model reg etc just that it's a standard bike (I.e. not pulling a trailer or is custom chopper etc) so if your new bike is a normal bike it's no problem. I'm in same postion logged the CBR as going but now have 1300 pan. As for the copies yes I did mean you take all the orginals but make sure you have copies of all of it aswell. Keeping them in different location or handing them to someone else to look after on the trip should the worse happen etc.

Thanks Paul, thats one less thing to worry about. I think I may regret selling the Pan after a few hundred miles... ;o)

Anyway, can I order one of the tee shirts in XL if its not too late? (If they run small then XXL)

Cheers, Al
