A one make day needs some manufacturer support in my opinion.

I went to a Kawasaki day earlier in the year. They had most of the 2007 range of bikes on show, plus Randy DePuniet's latest 800cc MotoGP bike (or a good replica of it). Kawasaki UK made a real effort, and it made the day. They had all the usual handouts, and also organised competitions.

If the day was organised by the Ace Cafe, they should take responsibility for getting support from the manufacturer and allied suppliers.

I'd assume that Honda would like us all to buy another one of their products in the future, so it's actually in their interest to support these events.

However, one thing neither Honda or the Ace Cafe can control, is the weather :?
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Apparently we've had a month's worth of rain in 24 hours

Ruth & I wimped out too. I don't mind getting wet on the way back from somewhere, but object to starting in wet weather - unless I have too!

There's always next year...... :D

Let's hope so Stritchy.

I wasn't planning on going this year, but as the Monkey Bike event the previous day was washed out, I was hoping to get out on a bike on Monday, but it wasn't to be.

I do agree that a manufacturer's day needs the manufacturer there but I do think that the ACE are quite laid back about the organisation of it all. The previous year was a good event and I think, in a way, if the weather had been good would have been more embarrasing if Honda were not there. I think it needs co-ordinating and to have an 'owner' like Steve used to do if we are going to be involved. Had the weather been good it would also have been embarrassing for us as the Honda Owner's Club that there was nothing there - as it was there were only about a dozen Honda owners who turned up.

Suffice to say that I am not against any bike event and the location is a good one. Having been to the last three Honda Days I am well aware of how this event has declined in popularity with the public from the first very well organised and publicised event. We were instrumental in that initial success getting branches from all over the country to turn up and outnumbering the GW owners who were supposed to be equally involved. Honda UK were not at that show.

Honda Uk came to last years event and were only there; by their standards; on a low key set up.
This year I will not say in a public forum what I was told at another meeting but being stuck in Scotland was probably a blessing to them. This when you think they are about to embark to IOM.

The Ace Cafe need to get organised properly if they want to have brand specific events and would probably get more support from local dealers than Honda UK if they want a Honda Day. They also need to get commitment from other Honda clubs and offer something other than a table in blowy car park.

The thing that worried me this year was that, had the weather been better, the nothingness at the ACE would have reflected poorly on anything with the 'Honda' name. :( As it was there were some grumbles.

I have been to a number of Suzuki Days (as weel as last years Honda Day), and Suzuki UK never turn up.
The day is made by the varity of Owners clubs that turn up, and by 10:30 (whether permitting) the car park is full of Suzukis
