Hi forpy,

Welcome to the forum.

Your best bet would be to have a look for your local branch, which can be found from the front page of the HOC website under Local Branches.

Have a chat with them, I'm sure you'd be welcome.

Barry must be from your neck of the woods, so he may be able to point you in the right direction. He's a regular forum user, so shouldn't be difficult to find.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Might be worth you dropping a quick line in the "Introductions" section.

People seem to keep an eye on it so that they can welcome new members.

This is one of the friendlyest forums I visit, so it's worth keeping an eye on whats going on..

thanks for that, but like a bul in a china shop i entered here first (oops) i have now put a message on the Intro section. i agree with the frendly part, what i read so far seems very good, i've been on other forums, mostly music ones, and gave up coz the people just want to argue al the time, im not into that, i have found in my short time in the biking world that most bikers are a frendly bunch, so i am proud to be a part of it.

Your nearest will be North London branch at present. Which meets NE London Essex borders. There is soon to be a Kent branch based near to Brands Hatch if that is easier.

One of the best bikers meeting place on the Essex/London border is Bert's tea shack, High Beech.
On any Sunday there will be a large group of bikers, of all sorts, drinking tea and talking bikes.
Some arrive in small groups, but most arrive alone.
It is easy to get involved - just spot a likely riding companion and admire their bike - everyone likes talking about their bike.

You may wish to consider the new Kent branch. It meets at Farningham - about 10 minutes from the Dartford tunnel. - 2/3 minutes off the Swanley turnoff, M25.

They have just had their inaugural meeting. They have yet to organise any rides, but keep your eyes on the Forum and the HOC web sit.
