After spending quite some time reading up on this topic, I decided to go ahead and fit a Saito Heated Grips Set 1, which I had been bought for Xmas. I established that I could get a switched 12V source inside the headlamp enclosure.
Carefully I removed the old grips with WD40 and a long thing screwdriver lifting the ege to squirt the lube inside, the old grips were removed cleanly with no damage. I soon realized that the Heated grips were 1/4" longer than the original Honda grips and the throttle fouled on the bar end weights, carefully I cut the last 1/4" off the grips only to find that this went through the element! So now they are useless. Doh!

Good job I did not cut off the old grips, I was able to refit them with a drop of Evo-Stick.

I had to do the same with my Gericke grips on my old VFR and the Oxford grips on the new VFR. However did not cut the element so that suggests a poor design in the ones you got.

I did note that Oxford stated in their instructions that no cutting should be done but they also said it would not be needed. They obviously have never fitted them to throttles with screw in bar weights.

Suggest you contact the manufacturer to see why they cannot get their product together to fit properly.

Maybe these would suit those models with bar end weights
