CB1000 TYRES

Postby steviebaby1000 on Tue May 29, 2007 4:20 pm

For anybody with a CB1000 i have just had a set of Avons on my bike and there great....... 180/55 ZR18 Venom - R on the rear and a 120/70 ZR18 Azaro AV - ST on the front.... The handling is great, they feel rock steady right down to the peg going down (do you need more).... At the BMF i had only come down the A1 so hadent used the side bits but im a big believer in using all the tyre as i paid for it all.... Anyway just thought i'd let other Big One owners now as the BT54 is no more and i wouldent hang the Dunlop 202 on the side of a boat..... If anybody wants more info drop me a line..... I will be doing a full right up on the web site soon......

I’ve got a pair of Avon Storms on my Pan European (ST1100), that are doing well. 4000-miles on them since September this year and just a little bit of wear in the centre due to motorway milage. Nice and grippy around the German and Austrian twisty bit to the point where I’ve managed to take the toes out of my boots, which makes them not too economic… off for a new pair of boots tomorrow, this time with toe sliders.

I got Continental Road Attacks on the VFR which seem to be wearing well and nice and evenly all over the tread.

Mind, once I’ve been through another Storm on the back of my Pan, I think I might just try the Bridgestone 020’s again… I seem to keep going back to them again and again and again.

020s are definately the tyre of choice for ST110 riders, me included :)

Strangely enough, so far I agree but you’ve got to try other brands. My last 020 on the back of the Pan did give me a bit of a scare coming away from the ferry terminal on the way back from Orkney. It was on its last legs though and I was already booked in for new tyres back at National Tyres in Barnsley for the Storms fitting.

Still 020's next time
