Thanks for your comments, albeit open ended and I fully understand about not fully commenting on this subject on the forum, so it looks like I'm going to have to renew my membership if I want to read John's write up on the VFR :o0

OK OK - it was me :)

I was passing the dealer when the lorry turned up - so I called in and watched the bikes being unloaded (took a snap or two). Then helped them uncrate it, pushed it indoors and sat on it.

Got both feet on the floor - not flat, but comfortable (I'm only little). Can't wait for the weekend when I can have a go.

It does look better in the flesh. Go and see it.

I thought I had seen one on the side of the road in Wimbledon today and thought someone had managed to get one out early. Then I saw a BMW badge on the fairing, I can't believe how similar they are on the front. Didn't get the model though.

GOODIE BAGS :o0 What makes you so special ;o) Just got back from my dealer empty handed even though I was told, on the invite, that there would be food, drinks and a freebie or 2 :o(

They had 2 VFR's on show a red and a white they started up the red one and I must admit it did sound nice, which is good news for all us VFR fans. Looks wise I suppose you could say it's challenging, but could grow on you. Not riden one yet, but the seating position is fairly neutral so I suppose it'll be ok on a long run and could be ideal for those major A road sweepers. switches and dials seem ok with good visability in the dark partcially lite dealers carpark area. A couple of guys who showed up booked a test ride for this weekend, but to be honest I'm going to wait till mid to late March when the roads should be a bit more forgiving and dryer  the dealer said that he'll have a couple more by then so will probably let them out for a longer ride, but for the moment he's limited it to 45 mins.

I'm glad I made the effort to go to a launch night, but it's a real shame that the dealer did'nt make more of an effort considering this is a much awaited model and very important addition to the Honda fleet, but hey I suppose he was given a small budget

It'll be interesting to read some of your comments and observations from those of you venturing out to your local dealers good or otherwise :|

Ii'll take the Fury in Blue as a new toy, just can't get excited about the 1200, may be different when I finally get round to testing it on the road.

I had my first ride on one today. Absolutely superb. The amount of torque is staggering. Zero to any speed you want in no time at all. Yes, it is a license loser if you are not careful.

It handles well too. But it was the power that got to me. And it looks really nice in the flesh too - much better than the pics.

I've sent a small report to Tim so he can post in in Golden Wing if he wants.

I went to Castle Honda today, met some nice West Yorks members too. :o)

Quite like the riding position, very vfr, big stumbling block for me is the price near £13000 with luggage and centre stand. When the brand new vtec sat next to them in the shop is £7,700 with luggage, it makes you wonder where all those £££s have gone.

Yea it looks good and i want to ride one but in a month or two... i thought the Fury was nice.... looked bigger in the flesh than in the photos but one thing i cant get my head round is the VFR costing nearly £12,000 has no Full stand..... What... Im sure Honda will legally Mug you for a couple of hundred pounds for one but come on Honda sort yourselfs out it would cost them pennies to put one on but then they would lose all that cash from people buying them.... all in all i like the VFR1200 but wouldent have one at that sort of money... and i wouldent pay £12,000 and then start buying taller screens and stands...
