Help Fitting Cafe-Racer bars

Postby MadDogMcQ on Tue Feb 02, 2010 1:50 pm

As much as I like bikes to be "original", I also LOVE cafe-racers and I would dearly love to try some on my CB450 Black Bomber (shown below). Has anyone else fitted some to a CB450? If so, where did you get them from? Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.

Most cafe racers are a mixture of ill-matching bits and pieces.....................most of MY bikes are cafe racers................................!!!

Anyroadup, you might consider fitting straight bars - these USED to be know as "Vincent Bars"................they are virtually straight handlebars with a slight bend near the ends. "Ace Bars" are probably also available, but they might well interfer with your instruments, and (in my opinion) are not so great.

Congratulations on your Black Bomber! I can remember when these bikes were first available. (Shows my age!) People were just shocked that the japanese would have the audacity to start making big bikes, and begin the end of the british bike industry.............!

This isn't one of the original "Black Bombers" though, which had a totally different tank and sidepanels:
