I still love my 'borrowed' 350... am missing her while she is away being treated to lavish care and attention ... but am looking forward SO much to seeing her again when both she and I are 'ready to go'! :o)) :o)) :o))

Well, hope you have enjoyed the peace and quiet - but I'm back!

Holiday over and done with, rally season in full swing (went to the Beds one last weekend and have booked in for the Solent and National so far... must book Oxford and East Mids when payday arrives..) but the BIG NEWS is..... (and... oooooh... I'm getting all 'cited!! :o0 :o0 :o0 :o)) :o)) :o)) )

It looks like me and the lovely bike may be reunited sometime in the not too distant! :o)) :o)) :o)) :o)) Yippee!!

I am very nervous though - will I remember how to ride? Will I be able to turn my head for the 'lifesavers'? Will I be able to squeeze into my leathers after so many months of relative incapacity and bone idleness and food????    Eeek!!

Seriously though, I AM nervous about it, :o? but only because it has been such a long time since I have put a lid on & I am quite worried about the impact on my neck and how my back and neck will cope with riding a bike again... *sigh

The ct scan wasn't the best news ...(you can use this as an entry for 'understatement of the year') and it looks like some surgery may have to occur ... blah! (Me no like injections and being stuck in bed  :o( - well, not on me own.. ;o) umm...*cough... anyway...)

Still... I am up for a challenge and have a good supply of Ibuprofen and Paracetemols!

I am suffering major withdrawal symptoms and having watched everyone go off on the rideouts from the Clappers Rally at Pulloxhill last weekend... I know I am itching to get back on 2 wheels!!

The bike is looking absolutely gorgeous and I am going to spend some time before she comes back in preparing her 'area'... I may be enlisting an unsuspecting volunteer this weekend... well.. sadly I can't do any of the groundwork now (aha! a silver lining to all this spinal nonsense!) so I will just have to 'supervise'! heh heh heh.. I haven't told him yet.. but as Sunday is looking like being a lovely day.. I think he may be set to work whilst I drift around making jugs of soft drinks and bbq'ing ... and generally , well, sunbathing!! :o)) :o)) :o))

This evening will be the 'lid' test I reckon - will see how that goes before depressing myself about the trousers!

Well, I cannot believe it is already a year since that first time I rode the 350! (and so, over a year since passing my test)..

I spent all summer missing her and biking in general and was delighted to be able, after almost 9 long months, to be able to ride her again at the National Rally... bit daunting though.. riding in a group of 76 bikes! Anyway - that was a month ago now and the 350 went home with her owner and I went back into major withdrawal ... so.. I am now searching for a bike!

I was going to buy a Hornet on Saturday but there was an accident during its test ride (I wasn't riding as it was unrestricted) and so, no sale there!

So... ebay last night saw me shaking and nervous as I was bidding for another Hornet! Pipped at the post during the closing seconds... so that one was not to be either..

So now, here I am, coughing and spluttering at home (recovering from Swine 'Flu and a chest infection) and googling and watching ebay and thumbing through MCN with a vengeance! In the last 12 months I have, somewhat shamefacedly, gained a significant amount of weight and am a real porker again, so, along with a new bike I am searching for new trousers and jacket to use until I shed my 'winter coat'!! (Time to get the Wii fit out!!)

So there we have it... I was against having a Hornet but was persuaded to sit on one at the weekend and was hooked! (I think it helped enormously that at Silverstone my mate Russ let me ride his CBR600F and I was instantly smitten with it but needed something with a more upright riding position (my neck and back restrict my options!). Plus, I'm a short ar$e too! lol

Right - time to get back ebay methinks... I think last night gave me an insight into how expectant fathers must feel waiting outside the delivery room! lol I was a nervous wreck!!! Have had some sound advice now about bidding techniques so I'll be trying my luck again!

So... a year on and a new love affair on the horizon with a Hornet... ahh it looks like the year may end on a high after all!!

It would be wonderful to have it in time to ride to the AGM... not long now!! :o))

You will love the Hornet - but you could also look around for a CBF600. Equally as good but may (if you get the right one) come with a half fairing - which is nice in the English weather sometimes.....

Anyway, best of luck and see you for the AGM.

Thanks guys... almost became the very proud owner of a 2002 Hornet tonight but have to wait 10 days to see if the current buyer comes up with the dosh! Argh! So frustrating as I have the funds now.. but that's the seller's perogative I guess... so.. I shall carry on looking... keep watching ebay... googling other sites and thumbing through the MCN. My friend who test rode the bike on Saturday is facing surgery tomorrow to have some metal plates put in his wrist!! So, bless him, he's not going to be able to ride for several weeks now!

I am keeping my eyes peeled for a CBF600 too as you have suggested Alan.. :o)

Will keep you posted!

I pick up my lovely 1978 250 Dream (not the Superdream) later on today! :o))

I am sooo excited. She needs some tlc but I have that for her in abundance!

I'm so excited I got up at 6am!!! Already spent hours googling for things I want to do for her (new seat cover, fuel tap, paint job (if not original colour)...

If I can remember how to put photos up :scratch I will put some piccies of my lovely new baby on here...

I'm still looking for a Hornet, but in the meantime my 'Dream' is the answer to my dreams!! (I know, very corny!!! [smilie=a_doh.gif] ) lol
