Hazrd flashers with ignition off.

Any hints on looking after your bikes

Hazrd flashers with ignition off.

Here's a tip you may not know about....

Hondas new bikes have a hazard flasher switch. But when you have the ignition off, you can't operate them. Seems odd doesn't it. Well, try this:

Turn on the ignition (you don't need to start the bike), turn on the hazards. Then, turn off the ignition and (if you want) lock the bike. The hazards will continue to function until you turn them off.

This works on my CB1300 and my wifes CBF1000 (both 09 models). I'd be interested to hear what other bikes this works with (and what it doesn't). Honda's only of course.

Alan

PS - thanks to the CB1300 forum where I learned this tip.

My CBF600 has a position just after the ignition position (ignition off), where just the hazards work!

Surely it's designed like that's so some switch-twiddling twerp can't walk past your bike and swich on your hazards, thus draining the battery for you!

That's true - if they are on, you can turn them off anytime - but you can only turn them on with the ignition on.

And the '07 Blade. ( no surprises there then.)

I have an 04 Varadero, if you look at the ignition switch, you will see a point after the "on" which states "Acc" (Accident) you can set the Hazards to "on" with the key in this position and remove it, the Hazards will remain on.

I found this after a biker crashed last weekend.
