Frost, then Snow stops play

Postby protector on Sun Jan 04, 2009 10:54 pm

I was going to go for a ride on the bike today. I looked out of the window at 11am to see the car covered in thick frost. The bike cover covered in frost too. i'll let it defrost i thought.

Had a look again around 14.30 ish. It began to snow. I've not been on a bike for over 2 weeks now because of my knee, and the day i make an effort, the weather turns against me.
So i went out in my car. Though to be honest, i had the heated seats on full and the heater blowing as hot as possible, so maybe today wasnt the best day.
Anyone else get weathered off riding today. I'll feel better if i'm not the only one.

We've had snow overnight and the wife found it very difficult getting off the drive this morning in her car. She couldn't get up the road (the shortest way to the bus route which should have been gritted) and had to take a much more twisty way. Fortunately I'm not venturing out in the car or bike today.

Regards

Chris

Anything close to freezing and I have had it - they don't grit our road and it's got a downhill bend in it.

This morning it was -4 and had been snowing and then frozen. So, out with the car (again).

I haven't used the bike(s) since November last year - and it doesn't look like I will be doing so anytime soon.

Alan

PS - anyone else noticed this site seems slow?

We also had -6C this morning, no further snow though. Apparently it was -9 not too far away in Farnborough, quite a lowish area as well, not up a mountain.

-8 on way to work this morning and snow now firmly iced over and impacted nicely on the residential roads - NOT fun!

The sky is clear blue here, right now. I still cant go out, the road has a lovely white ice covering to it. Its too cold in the garage to fit heated grips to the PC800.

It was -7 when I went to work and the back roads are like an ice rink.
