New Honda rider, well new rider!

Hi all,

Well after trying to persuade the wife a bike would be cheaper in the current climate to commute to work I am now the proud owner of a yellow '98 FireStorm.

A ride from Kent back to Dorset on new years eve with many stops for coffee and to see if I had fingers left I still had the smile I developed after 5 minutes of being on it. Not sure it was the excitement or the freezing weather, I didn't care. Just to make it home in time for Big Ben to ring in the new year. (yes, it took me nearly 5 hours )

What a great start to 2009!!!
Will be forking over my £20 in the next few minutes, so hopefully see some of you soon.

Hi Leigh and welcome to the forum from me

The firestorm is definitely a fun bike to ride, enjoy her. I'm sure you will be made welcome at the Dorset branch, so pop in and say hello.

Regards

Chimpy

Well I might leave it for the next few days if the weather keeps up like this.

Got pushed into the middle of the road by a car that just came straight out of a side road this morning and ended up sideways on the icy chevrons. Kept it upright as couldn't have been doing more than 15mph. I was met with the "Sorry, I didn't see you!" How sad it would be if ignorance was admissable in court!!! Aside from the fact the bike is bright yellow and sounds like a tank with a cough!!!

Thank you all for the welcome, I will be @ the dorset branch next meeting and hopefully see some of you that are further a field when the weather picks up.

It's really: "I didn't bother looking, and I know when there's a bang, there was something coming."
