Good list Ro.

Seeing it reminded me of a few more bands that I've seen.

Cheap Trick
Faith No More
Little Angels
Max Webster
Thunder
Paul Young

Chimpy,

Aerosmith are the best live band - IMHO ;o)

I'm afraid I was born a decade too late and missed out on seeing so many great bands.
Fortunately some of them are still touring!

We saw them at the old Wembley Stadium with Van Halen as Support (I think, a while back now?) and that was an awesome concert. They certainly rank up amongst the best bands I've seen.

Van Halen, eh? The last time I saw Aerosmith was on the Nine Lives tour at the SECC in Glasgow with Shed Seven supporting, who were shockingly bad.

Another great live act I saw recently was Meatloaf. He's a fantastic showman and he really puts out some power. So much so that at one point I thought he might collapse!

I don't want to chance fate but the Monkey's been a bit quieter recently. It's the giant yellow Chicken that really scares me!

Hi Deniz

I guess these must be local groups? I haven't heard of them here in the UK. What type of music do they play? I would think they are heavy rock bands by the names, but I could be wrong.

Hi,

The first group I ever saw was Bill Nelson's Be-Bop Deluxe before they made it big in the States. I saw them in 1973 when I was 18, shortly after they first formed at Askerns Miners Welfare club, where they released limited copies of Teenage Archangel/Jets at Dawn for about 50p each, (Worth much more now). I bought one and still have it. My wife, who was my girlfriend at the time actually treasures it and has kept it in excellent condition.

Chimp boy,
Blind guardian is from German (they used to play lord of the rings' music, unofficial)
anathema is from Liverpool.
apocalyptica is from finland
and epica my favour is from holland... you should listen the song 'cry for the moon'

they're all metal music. but specially gothic metal and symphonic metal.

Bit of an update. I've just started to digitise my vinyl collection. It's not a particularly easy process and is quite time consuming but it does seem to work. Last night I transferred one of my favourite records to my I Pod; Cheap Trick's Live At Budokan, a real classic album that I haven't heard for ages. It was belting out in the car today!

Going to a gig tomorrow night as well which we are really looking forward to.

This place http://www.loudpromotions.co.uk is opposite my house. I've never darkened their doorstep, but I can hear all the music from the comfort of my own armchair. Click on the "previous gigs" link to see who's performed there.
Waiting patiently for a V8 Wing. but might have to make do with a 2.1 litre flat 6

As for "Time To Breath" who we saw last night, they were absolutely awesome (thanks to Shellshine for organising a great evening). Forgetting for a moment that this outfit is a tribute band, they were so professional and could easily hold their own in their own right. Such great value for money as well, as I've paid five or six times the ticket price for bands that haven't performed anywhere near as well. I can't wait for the next time they are playing again, brilliant.
