vfr750 hugger

Postby vinbike on Wed Nov 12, 2008 2:26 pm

Hi,
I'm looking to buy hugger for 1996 model and wondering if any body has experience of selecting best make. My concern is the maunufactures don't have photos or drawings so i can establish which one has the best chain guard as them think its necessary to shorten this part of the hugger as part of there design.
Any comments welcome to help decide which one to go for.
Thank you
Vince

I had a "Skidmarks" hugger on mine which was a pig to fit but had a neat chainguard & looked well. Only problem was, if the suspension 'bottomed' the top of the hugger used to hit a bracket under the seat.

http://www.N-W-S.com should find N.W.S huggers that I have on my bike.

Roy how on earth did you do that. Even with me at my size and full rally luggage I have not been able to bottom the rear end out.

I fitted an NWS to my 800FIX, it's well made and was easy to fit, now been on the bike for three years with no problems.

However NWS were later bought out by one of the larger companies (Pyramid?), I heard that there were some fit/quality problems following the takeover and then they ceased trading.

A mate has a RedFox hugger fitted to his VFR which looks pretty good.

Hi Steve,

I contacted NWS and they say that the VFR750 Hugger is discontinued, which is a shame as i heard that they were better than the other manufacturers.
Still undecided which one to go for yet , not seen enough evidence of the best design.

I have an NWS on my current VFR v-tec & it is a good fit, and looks very neat so can recommend it as a brand.
