Ullwell Cottage Park, Swanage (Nr Weymouth)

:o)) Me and Jack had a fantastic weekend :o))

Jack found this little campsite online and all the reviews were 5 star so we thought we would give that a go. So on Saturday we rode down to Swanage (for those of you that went to the National, Swanage is just round the corner from Wemouth) We had a lovely ride down there and arrived at the campsite surrounded by beautiful hills. They let us pick the pitch that suited us best (some were on slants so better to be on the flat with both bikes to park up) and only £11 for the night.

We went up for a walk along the ridge and stopped at the obelisk to watch the sunset and then back to the little pub they had onsite, which was super friendly and had a real homely feel.

Sunday morning we went for a swim in the indoor pool which was really well kept and nice and warm, after doing a few lenghts then playing around for a bit we checked with reception if it was ok to leave the tent up for a little while so we could walk down the beach and it was no problem because the pitch wasn't booked for that night. Usually you would have to be out by 11am but because its an independant place they have more freedom. This was great for us because it meant we could leave all our leathers etc in the tent and have a wander down the beach... The beach was sandy! Brilliant after the previous weekends stoney beach, we collected loads of pretty shells and wandered along for quite some time.

We stopped in the little pub for Sunday Lunch and it was a proper home cooked Sunday lunch, none of this processed crap some places just get out the freezer. When we got back to the tent all the dew had gone so the tent was nice and dry for packing up (what a difference a couple of hours makes) and we headed back about 2pm.

The facilities at this campsite are great, the showers are clean and tidy, and the whole campsite has a homely feel and the staff are wonderful.

We are already checking the weather forecasts to see when we can next go down there.

Sounds great, glad you had a good time. It looks like a nice place, could be a venue for a Reading Camping Weekend ;o) .

See you soon.
