Thanks Red yes the bike does in my opinion look well too, however when you are a classic fanatic like me it seams that a semi-restorationor even a full restoration even is never finished !! as there is always something that can be improved or replaced.
Well I am fortunate enough to be able to do any re-spraying myself as years ago i did a gov.training course in vehicle re-spraying allthough I never did work in this field after completing the course.
I did however use what I learnt back then and adapted it to Guitar Restoration and had my own workshop for almost 20 years whilst living in Germany repairing, restoring and even building guitars and other stringed instruments.
During this time I also resprayed several bike tanks and panels for customers.
The finished required on guitars is of a much higher standard than on most vehicles and glass like finishes are required and could take anything up to six weeks to complete .... spraying rubbing down repeatedly often building up to as many coats as 30 (of which more than half would be clear laquer.
Therefore working on a bike tank is a doddle ... also working on metal or plastic surfaces are much easier than wood as metal doesn't expand or contract at the same rate they are also a much flatter surface ei: no grain which needs filling.
As for some of the odd bits required for my bike I have found a supplier who has many NOS honda bits and pieces many of which David Silver or CMSNL doesn't have in stock. ..... "Riders of Yeovil" they have just sent me a complete list of Honda parts which was so large it crashed my browser a couple of times downloading it lol.
