So up in the frozen North it was 13c. I managed to get out on the bike. Did you? Have you got the tyre sorted yet?

Here it's been such a dingy day all day (after a wet overnight) that we've had to have the lights on indoors just to see to read the paper! Surprisingly, it's not rained though, but it's hardly biking weather! The sun only ever comes out when I have to go to work too!

hi jennie,,,

chin up,,, i went out on my bike the other day,,, didn't think to check my petrol status,,, (wrong move, thought i had enough, cause i hadn't filled up to long ago)
went on reserve just outside buckingham,, had to go home,, cause i don't always take money out with me,,,,
think someone syphened the petrol,,,,, left just enough for me to get to petrol station, but i didn't know that one,,
my fault as well for not checking before i left home,,,
the way of the world today,,
jennie,,, every day is a new day,, and you never know whats round the corner,,,

Brrrrrrr... ice on car this morning!

Oh Bev! Glad you got out on the bike though eh? Lesson learned - I know for me it's the only way I tend to learn is the flippin hard way too! LOL LOL Shame we don't have bikes with a thing that flashes up when getting low... I have to rely on memory and that's never a good thing! hee hee hee

Looking forward to seeing you Wednesday! :D

I know!! It's not fair!!  (Stamp, pout etc etc) Forecast for today was mild and dry and it's peeing down! Makes no odds, my sister is visiting this afternoon so that's the window of any opportunity gone in the blink of an eye!

Trust me... it isn't that I don't want to... it's circumstances (seriously - it is... and it peeves me more than you could even come remotely close to imagining).. I know it reads like a bunch of excuses at times but it isn't... flat tyres, dodgy throttle cables, leaking fuel, crappy weather, extra work, front brakes that object to the wet, family visits, pitch blackness at stupidly early o'clock, sub zero temperatures, appointments that must be met, prior committments and responsibilities...... blah de blah blah blah... it's just how it is at the moment.

I wish it were not so ... riding the bike is so very very good for me... in a multitude of ways... not least for that utter sense of freedom and liberation, :o)) independence :o)) and mega exhileration :o)) :o)) .. ie.. monumental grin factor! :o)) :o)) :o))

And worse yet... the weather forecasters are saying that as of Friday winter is going to arrive with a vengeance!!! Deep joy!!

I want to ride for fun, for pleasure... if I'm not going to enjoy it then there's absolutely no point. At the risk of sounding like a wimp or a big girls blouse... if the leaves are forming skidpans in the middle of the roads and the grass can be snapped due to it's frozen state and the roads look like they're dusted in icing sugar and even the ducks are waddling around in their wellies and huddling together under brollies, then it ain't gonna be much fun. :o(

Still...looking on the bright side...in less than the blink of an eye, the bright mornings will be back... and daylight hours will lengthen once again... and spring will come... and with it the optimism of sunshine and lots of opportunities to get out there and just ride! In the meantime it's an opportunity (I suppose) to tender to her (the bikes) needs as best I can.. (I'm going to measure the side gate and see if I can get her round the back of the house and into the kitchen through the back doors... it will mean moving the dining table (no idea where to!)... hmm... a job for this Saturday morning methinks! (Unless by some miracle I can actually take her out!) There is a part of me that thinks sod the weather and the extra risk, but then this irritatingly sensible voice booms over it and tells me to get a grip!

she's lovely... she's just having a bit of a bad run at the moment... that's all... nothing that can't be sorted (cable was replaced, fuel was a stuck float, brakes are part and parcel of her being the beautiful classic model that she is, and the tyre is just one of those things...).

She's adorable and I love her! So ner!!
