My new bike. Nearly finished.

Postby zkptn on Mon Apr 07, 2008 10:42 pm

I thought I would post some pictures of my new bike.
About six weeks from completion and her first MOT date.
I hope to have 4 weeks to run her in before I honeymoon on her at the end of June
This is how she was in November,

Looking good. I enjoyed the DOHC fours that I had, two 750s and a 900.

I still have a 750F in the garage but I doubt I'll ever put it on the road again.

Is it just me, or is there a problem viewing the photos?

This weekend saw the rear wheel and brake fitted.
Both brakes, front and rear have been totally overhauled with rebuild kits for the three calipers and both master cylinders.
Stainless braided hoses have been fitted along with stainless fittings and the discs have been drilled on the CNC mill.
My son fabbed me a stainless torsion bar from 25mm box section but turned thru 45 degrees to give a diamond profile. Not exactly stock spec but we both like it...

Looks like you're making a really good job with your restoration.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the finished item...
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

An update.
It's been rather slow going this past week or two. Had real problems bleeding the front brakes. Starting with a completely dry system i just could not get things primed. Finally managed to get the system full of fluid using variously a bicycle pump, a washing up liquid bottle and the hand pump thingy 'er indoors uses to 'mist' water on to her cacti collection.
