Keep 'em clean?

The lighter side of life

Postby revvinkevin on Thu Jan 03, 2008 3:21 pm

Question. Why would an eight year old be unsupervised using the internet? Surely parental responsibility comes into it somewhere.

Why should my enjoyment of adult interaction be curtailed because feckless parents let their little brats loose to browse whatever they like?

As I said, make it a rule to include some kind of warning in the title bar such as NSFK (Not Safe For Kids).

If that was directed at all at my post then check the joke section and see that I am a contributer to the 'dirtier' jokes! I happen to love them!

My 9 year old 'BRAT' doesn't browse whatever he likes but me as a 'FECKLESS' parent would like to be able to keep the webpage open without fear of what he might read!
I joined the HOC as a 'FAMILY' and I assumed this forum was part of it!

If you actually read my thread again I was only making a suggestion to a question that had already been asked! I didn't have a problem with the 'smuttier' side of things but I DO have a problem with other people assuming us 'feckless' parents let our 'brats' look at whatever they like on the web! Do you have kids yourself...transfered guilt by any chance!

Hmmm, interesting how in a few short posts folks are at each others throats, this appeals to me and could catch on, how about a "You looking at me pal?" section? It could work!

Regards, Al

P.S. In the meantime, I will post a clean joke, just to show you dont have to be smutty!

Far too much trouble.

What I could do is make another section called "over 18 only" but that can stillbe seen by all and sundry.

If people want to view those type of jokes, there are plenty of other web sites for that. Since this is primarily for the HOC, I'm not sure we need it. But if the consensus is to have one, I am happy to bow to the majority.

So, let me know.

Well I'm happy with the forum the way it is but if we have to change then so be it.
My kids dont actually go on this site (and they would ask before viewing something of mine) but thats not to say others dont.
I'm happy to carry on OR refrain from posting jokes that are a bit close to the mark, but maybe if it was REALLY bad it shouldn't be posted but maybe left for friends on email?

No I don't have kids. And just to really wind you up..........I agree completely with Wetherspoons pubs only letting parents with children there have two alcoholic drinks then turning them away.
Hooray for Wetherspoons.
About time people were able to enjoy child free environments. 8)

I'm going to post stuff with a NSFK in the title bar, if you open it and your child reads it, down to you then innit? :D :P :D

I do love a good wind up.........................

I thought you have to be a wino or show your students card to get into Weatherspoons?
