First Honda,and it's a classic!

Hello. My name is Guy, and I live near Aylesbury. Although I've been riding for nearly 30 years, I have never owned a Honda until now. I have always had a thing about the NS400R of the mid-80's, and rode a couple of demo bikes when I was a student back then. This highly-modified one came up for sale in Jan 2007 and I seriously thought about buying it, but I was living abroad at the time and couldn't make it happen. The new owner put it up for sale in May 2008, but I didn't see the ad until it was a month old. I rang him and asked if it was still for sale, and he said that he had put it on EBay and sold it, but the buyer had just come back and told him he couldn't complete the purchase for personal reasons. So it was back for sale!

Needless to say, I immediately jumped in the car and did the deal. It will be featured shortly in an MCN article about GP replicas, and I hope to get it to some HOC meets. I look forward to meeting some of you, especially NS or NSR owners.

I also have a couple of Ducatis, one of which I race. This weekend we'll be at Hungaroring doing the second round of the Czech Endurance Cup. I know, Hungaroring isn't in the Czech Republic but they only have two decent racetracks of their own, so they're going abroad....

Lol. If I had any other Honda, it would be a 400/4. One day...

Welcome from me. The NS always looked nice in Roughmans colours.

Are the front wheel and brakes original?

No, thbe only original parts are the frame, tank and engine. Front end is from NSR250 MC21, wheels (both 17") are Magtek.

I didn't think the NS400R had four pots, it looked my NC30 front end but with smaller discs.
