Pantheon FES 125 not starting

Postby leighv on Mon Jan 12, 2009 2:50 pm

Hi - I'm having problems when my scooter is damp/wet, it just doesn't start... It turns over - but it doesn't start - which then results in a flat battery. When it's dry, I don't have any problem whatsoever, starts first time.

Any suggestions, any books I can read on servicing, etc. Thanks.

Just spray the plug cap and coil with wd40.

Hi - it's serviced every year before the MOT. It's 4 years old and has done about 6k miles. It lives outside in the open. I use it probably once twice per week - but as I said, when it's dry outside it starts first time. When it's wet - it doesn't....

When you say spray the plug cap - do you mean take it off the plug and spray inside aswell?

Thanks.

Yup, spray it liberally, you won't do it any harm.

there was a problem with poss lead the thick red one going from battery to solinoid on early 125.the battery kept going flat if left for a few days.but it should not afect your model.the only thing is spraying wd forty over all electric parts, like other person says,it wont hurt any part of bike.

I think I have found the problem, the plastic sheath over the lead that goes to the spark plug has come away from the spark plug cap. But how do I get the spark plug cap off of the spark plug. Thanks.

Spark plug caps just push onto the spark plugs. They can be fairly tight (they need to be), but not so tight as to be really difficult to remove. So give it a little tug, and it should come off.
