I've used a hairdryer in the past to good effect. Do not use a paint stripper.

Chimpy that was going to be my suggestion, however I was asking for more information as they may well be under clear laquer and then the hairdryer trick wont work. ;o) Original Decals are usually under clear laquer.

On fairing parts, they are not usually laquered. My VFR has them on the fairing lowers and the back of the seat tailpiece, and none of these are laquered.
A fine white line of polish residue builds up there............

If the decal's are laquered then its a respray job there's no way around it, I used to be spray painter for my sin's and done many bikes (still do), Suzuki's are normally applied straight to the finished paint work so come off easy, if you need anymore help contact me.

The Silver you see is the glue backing off the decal, if your carefull thinners will remove it but dont leave thinners on the paint work to long as it'll knacker the paint. wipe on with a cloth let sit for a few sec's then remove it'll be time consuming but it work's

Personally I would use a cutting/rubbing compound to remove the silver decal backing it works and polishes up the paintwork at the same time. .....but it is hard work and time consuming if done by hand.

Try using "Sticky Stuff Remover", it does what it says on the tin ;o) . It's also a bit safer than using thinners as it's easy for the inexperienced user to damage the paintwork. It doesn't mater of course if you are re-spraying.
