Too Logical for the vulcans without sense of humour.

Can I ask after all this where the thoughts about repairs to side walls came from as that was never in the question or the answers given. You could not plug the side walls as the structure is different and would not hold a plug. That is part of the reason tyre repair places cannot offer such a service. Unsafe therefore 'illegal' to do.

well internal patches were also mentioned ... and they could technically be applied to the walls of tyres.

Well, I have to get a new tyre soon. The plug has a slow leak (2psi a week) I put some leak check solution on the tyre and it is bubbling from the plug. The trye is 90% worn anyway so not too bad considering the plugged tyre has done 16000kms (10,000miles) The original puncture looks like it went in diagonally so when the plug was installed there was a lot of bending and stretching of the plug and I have worn the tyre/plug to a weak spot. If the puncture was perpendicular to the tread, this probably wouldn't have happened.
Thumbs up for plugs.

Replaced the punctured back tyre today. Another Pilot Road 2 from Michelin. 24,000 kms or 15,000 miles (depending on the date of your manufacture.) with a plug in it. I got the puncture 70miles in. Hopefully I will have better luck this time. I am very impressed with the Michelin tyre.
