Starting probs

Postby Artifishiator on Wed Feb 25, 2009 6:58 pm

Put my CBR600 F2 from '94 into hibernation in the beginning of december, 2-3 weeks later wanted to get it warmed up before an oil change but she wouldnt start :(

The engine turns over fine but it wont fire up. Every now and again it might splutter abit otherwise nothing.

Now here's the wierd thing!

Started to try and solve the problem by checking the spark plugs. Got the first one out and it looked great, proper colour and slightly moist. Then I hit the igniton to see if it was sparking ok... and omg she started first time without a single problem, put the plug back in again and same problem, it just wouldnt fire up.

Hopefully not long now until the weather is stable enough that I can start riding again so I'd like to sort this problem out. Any imput would be greatly appreciated!!!

Sorry, your saying that with plug out of one cylinder the bike started but when back in it would not start at all? That sugests that this plug/lead/coil is in some way interfering with the performance of the others. This sounds like some serious electical short on that cylinders system. That should not happen.
Have you tried same with the other plugs. Is it the same effect with each of those?
