I have to agree with you on that one Red, the Cx is a doddle to get on the main stand even though it is only 2 years younger than the KZ.

However the Cx was first introduced in 1978 and the Kz in 1979 !!! so in reallity from the age shouldn't make too much difference Having said that, the Cx was a completely new design whereas the Kz was basically an upgrade from previous 4 cylinder 750's.

The difference in weight between the 2 bikes is aslo much less than one would imagine.

I am sure the main problem with the KZ is the fact that the stand is bent.

Well, the front wheel should be on the ground, and the rear should have an inch or two clearance above the ground. If the rear wheel is on the ground, then the stand or its pivot is probably knackered.

It could be that the legs of the stand are bent, and are closer together than they should be, causing the bike to feel unstable when it's on the stand. This can often happen on heavy bikes, where the stand was under-engineered in the first place, and not really able to take day-to-day use. If a poor technique is used for putting the bike on the stand (not grounding both 'feet' at the same time) legs can get bent, as one is taking more weight than it should before the other leg 'touches down'.
