Cleaning Blackbird forks

Any hints on looking after your bikes

Cleaning Blackbird forks

Postby Graham on Fri Apr 03, 2009 8:43 am

The bottoms of the forks on the Blackbird I have just aquired are a bit mucky. Back in 2004/2005 Honda applied a different coating to prevent this and on my last Bird all I ever did was sponge them off whilst washing to keep them pristine. However it looks as if the previous owner has neglected this particular part of the bike. Has anyone any experience of cleaning this specifically.

Graham,
Are you saying the lacquer coating is gone due to neglect or is it a brushed alloy finish?
