Hi,
I need the advice of an electrics guru!
My bike, a 650 Vigor, tells you in the book not to touch the throttle when starting and this is very true. In the winter it can be a bit 'Prod and Pray' dependent on temperature.
I would like to have a little more starting control bearing in mind it has a carb.
Now, my other bike has full fuel injection, but the Vigor still has a TPS on the carb.
I initially wanted to replace the carb with a good ol' mechanical one, but I assume that if I detach the TPS, whilst I might start the bike okay, I might not get any ignition advance when I open the throttle up as no signals will now get to the CPU.
Is this the right assumption?
Is it not possible to make this bike a bit more mechanical with no electrics going near the carb.
Why do I want to do this? Just to make maintenance a little easier on the fuel side and make starting easier at all times of the year.
If you say 'Leave it alone', then fair enough.
An opinion would be good; it can be rude if it has to be:o))
