Café at "Devil´s Bridge" near Aberystwyth

If you head for the mountain road between Aberystwyth and Rhyader , there´s a breathtaking place called "Devil´s Bridge". A wild waterfall ending in a big pool of whirling foamy water.Over the centuries there have been three different bridges built over it and it´s quite an attraction.Just up the road ,next to the campsite there´s a café run by a nice couple who serve simple but nice homemade food. There´s an outdoor space with a few tables , they serve Welsh Cream Teas, too. In the season there are always loads of bikers stopping there so don´t miss out when you go that way. Witch and I live nearby so if you contact us we can arrange something. ;o)

Well, with a bit of luck (or more like a miracle, seeing how the weather is likely to be this weekend :o( ) we shall be sampling the delights of this establishment in your company this Sunday! I don't know it (I've probably seen it and just not stopped) but one of our group who intends to come along on Sunday recommended it, and our tea stops are almost compulsory! Hopefully we will see you at the Elan Visitor Centre first, for lunch perhaps?

Well the forecast has taken a turn ... for the worst hmmm .... but fingers crossed that will change again for the better .... well its Wales after all.

The Cafe is at the other end of the village from the Vale of Rheidol Railway over the bridge itself and about 150yds further on past the car park on the right hand side. Its as Sandwitch says it's a cracking little cafe ;o)

So with a bit of luck we'll see you at the Elan Valley Visitors Centre around 12 noon

Cheers Witch

Ah well, the weather defeated us. :o( (OK, yes, we chickened out! ) It would have been a long way to go in that horrible weather on Sunday, and I don't think any of us would have enjoyed it in those conditions. We will still do the trip, just got to sort out a date, and order good weather for the day!

The weather wasn't as bad as the forecast .... but I don't think I would have risked it from as far away as you Red for us its "just up the road".

Yep, it´s definately more fun in sunshine and slightly higher temperatures. When I looked at the satelltite picture yesterday I was relieved that the tour had been cancelled.
Over here they call these weather conditions "Welsh Summer" but I prefer the "Indian Summer".
Next time I promise to conjure up all the Caribbean Sunbeams I can get and we´ll all have a jolly good time ! ;o)
