ONLY HOC members may post 'items for sale'. Your HOC membership number MUST be added to the message or it will be deleted! ANYONE can view, reply or post 'items wanted' messages.
You can post anything for sale or wanted in here - but you HAVE to be a HOC member. So, in the Subject header, please put your HOC membership number. If I don't see it, I reserve the right to delete the post.
This is to avoid non members signing up and, as their first post, selling or buying.
If this is not the right way to do it, please tell me a better one
Alan

If you could add a couple of boxes to the profile, to include your membership number and date of expiry, then even in general discussion every body could see who was a member, and who was not
I've no problem in supplying my details if I want to sell something, however I would object to them being published and that includes my membership number, if I knew what it was that is!
What I am trying to stop is the person who registers just to post a for-sale item. Since I can't stop people registering, I wanted some way to manage this. If someone has a better idea, please tell me.
I cannot add items to the profile and I cannot stop people posting
With some forums I frequent, new members posts are routed through admin or moderators before making it to the page. The number of posts required before being free to post normally is set by admin. Is that facility available here? If so you could see the membership number and then delete it and allow the post. Regular users that have passed the pre requisite number of posts would be able to sell something straight away.
