ESSEXS BRANCH

Postby Ryder on Fri Nov 09, 2007 6:59 pm

Hello Fellow Bikers, Reading through the other essexs branch i noticed barry was struggling and was looking for a younger person to take onboard the organising of meets and events.

Im 21 years old, i ride a honda cbr 600 i have owned a variety of bikes and i used to be a regular at ace cafe in london. I have recently moved to essexs ( leigh on sea ) and have left my fellow bikers behined.

If your interested in meeting up, having a laugh and a chit chat about the world of bikes or enjoy going for bike rides let me know.

Hope barry will be proud?

regards

I am indeed :D

To get a bit of a taster, I suggest you go along to the Kent HOC meeting at Farningham - just 10 minutes from the other end of the Dartford tunnel from you.

I have not seen anyone from Kent on this forum who does go to the meetings. I did manage to get to their first meeting and there were some 25 people there.

I do think a Branch Web site is almost essential these days. Is that something you could set up?

Good luck :D

i can set up a website but would like some more interest before i do that,

i will have to arrange a bike meet when i get enough interested and take it from there.

What bike do you ride barry?

'Ryder', have you ever belonged to a bike club? I suggest that if you wait for 'interest' to come to you, it will never happen. That is why I suggested you get to the Kent meeting to get a bit of experience to go with your enthusiasm.

A Transalp 650 and a XJ750, at the moment - I am gradually trading down - this is a physical requirement not a financial one

I have owned my own club before but that was when i was into automatic bikes, ( my younger years .)

I had a website and about 30 members although 12 of which where friends who owned bikes. We done rides up to santa pod and some camping events which where fun.

Attending events on my own which you suggest, kinda umm worries me..
Im fine when i get talking, just abit nervous meeting new ppl at there venues... its different when they come to yours because they ask the questions... if that makes sense... im not sure!

any advise is welcome :D

Ryder you just go for it mate I have just resurected the Dorset branch and within two months have had so much interest. The honda members are a great bunch all talk to each other and like to help where we can.
email the Kent branch tell them you would like to come along that should help break the ice.
Also the first place to pull things together is on a page like this.

:D Hi Ryder - Great - go for it (lovely looking bike too!) You have obviously had experience before but if you do want any help or advice - just ask or phone - more than willing to chat. The Honda bunch are a good group of friendly folk - are you coming to the NEC?

Hi again Ryder

Postby Goomi on Tue Nov 13, 2007 8:15 pm

Hi again Ryder,

Yeah there is a offical HOC stand at this years NEC along with the HONDA Stand and members from the HOC help to man them. :D

I also back Heather where her advice she has just proven a little work and getting out there with the help of the HOC you can get a Club off the ground.

if you need any advice just ask you seem to have the website side of things covered and I'm sure once you are Ready Stritchy can setup a hosting server for you like he did for me a few months back and more recent for Dorset.

http://www.threeshires.hoc.org.uk http://www.dorset.hoc.org.uk

You might see the simular look as I run both websites at the moment. So if you need help just shout I'll do what I can from Sheffield.

:P Hi Ryder Yes, as Goomi says the HOC UK stand is 'manned' by members - you can volunteer to Rona and Phil who organise it around the Autumn time.

On the 2nd I should have said I was on the Honda UK Stand, they asked for volunteers from the Club this year to go onto the main stand and chat to the public about the bike they ride.

Look forward to seeing you there
