hey all dunno if there is any meets up in the essex area?

Well this topic has had 120 views alot of people interested but no1 seems to arrange anything... i have just moved to essexs and i am also looking for bike meets etc.. maybe we can arrange something... what bike do you ride?

would be good if some essex area rides/meets could be sorted/arranged

So, what you need is for one of you to make some arrangements (time, date, place), a discussion then ensues as to why people can't make it - alternatives are proposed and finally, you have a meet.

If no-one makes the first suggestion, nothing will get done.

So, go for it - someone. (it can't be me, I live 200 miles away)

thanks for the advice will put into practice me thinks
will do it closer to the summer in 08 - cant beat a good ride out & sunny weather!!!!

Although this topic has had 120 views it does not necessarily mean the viewers are interested. I always look at new topics as they may be of interest to me, I'd never know if I didn't look.

From what I remember of the forum activity there have only been a handfull of members from the Essex area and if IRC Barry was attempting to get an Essex Branch running but had little success.

That is very true, i have arranged some of the essex meets with a Mercedes owners club i am also joined to, even with that it all comes down to the day and time its all planned for!!

When i first started doing the MB meets there was only a handful of people coming along 2 maybe 3 people, but it can grow over time, i found as long as you can arrange good meeting places / ride out routes etc.

- I will give it a go at arranging something in the months leading upto the summer 2008. - Hopefully we can get a good group together.

SOUTHEND SHAKEDOWN RUN

Now in its 12th year, the annual Southend Shakedown Run from Ace Cafe London is their first of the season and the biggest free motorcycling event in Essex. This years ride-out on Easter Bank Holiday Monday 24th March, departs at 10.30am, and is set to be a bumper ride!

Not only is the cafe celebrating its 70th Anniversary this year, but Havens Hospices, which incorporates Little Haven Children's Hospice, the charity that the Southend Shakedown has supported from the outset, is also celebrating it's 25 years of care.

All the love and care that Havens Hospices provides is free of charge. However, it costs the charity nearly £5 million to continue its unique and vital services with limited funding from the government, so please make sure that you buy one of the commemorative badges that will be being sold on the Ace Cafe London stand, or pop your loose change in to the collecting tins.

This event attracts in excess of 40,000 riders, so just think what a £1 donation could achieve!
